The monument of the architectural heritage 'Hamami in Vushtrri' is located in the center of the city and consists of construction structures with strata of different historical periods. This Hamam, perhaps of a time with the mosque of Gazi Ali Bey in Vushtrri (15th century), is one of the earliest hamams in the Balkans. According to historical sources, Hamam of Vushtrri is built in two phases. The part of the introductory field with pumice stone is said to have been built in the 15th century. XVII, while other 3-dome buildings were built at the end of the 19th century. XV. This Hamam served as a public bath for men and women, who used it on certain days. According to Vushtrri, apart from bathing, Hamam has been used by citizens as a space for relaxation, music and tea service.
The story of Vushtrri is marked by many leaders and various cultural influences. Regardless of the city's influence, Hamam has resisted the time and has remained so far. In addition to the historical values, the building in question has multiple values Elements such as domes, bows, vaults, lighting through circular openings in the dome, proportions and materials of the halls have artistic and aesthetic value by showing us the mastery of building time. Various elements have influenced the Hamam to degrade day by day. In addition to aging, various injuries have been caused by atmospheric conditions, constructive problems, faulty treatments and vandalism. However, the main reason for the degradation of the hammam is neglect and not maintenance. This is also a consequence of not using the building since the 1970s and 1980s.
By making a prioritization of the damage and budget determined, the interventions in the hammam are partial. The interventions focus on the consolidation of the structure, the reconstruction of the ruined part of the walls, the removal of the applied cement and its replacement with mortar with the same composition as the original, the consolidation of domes from inside and outside and covering the entire hammam with tiles.
